Welcome to the world baby Winston!

April 18th was such a beautiful sunny day.
Calvin and I walked Enzo to the park and played outside all day.
My mom stopped by to see how I was doing and to say bye because she was heading to Downey early the next morning... we were both bummed I didn't have the baby while she was still here.

I was just finishing up dinner around 6 when I felt a weird pop inside followed by some water coming out. I remember telling Calvin to stay right here (he was eating some dinner) I think my water broke.. i'll be right back. Sure enough my water broke! I came back in the kitchen to call Eric and Calvin picked up my water bottle and said "what happened to your water mommy?" haha luckily Eric got home shortly after.  My midwife said not to rush to the hospital and to try to get labor started at home. I knew I was going to have to leave Calvin that night and I got so emotional, I wasn't ready for him to grow up over night and not be my baby anymore! Joy showed up around 7 to pick up Calvin for his sleepover that we had talked to him about and off he went. We cleaned up, packed our hospital bags and I decided we better sit down and time my contractions to get a better idea of when we should head to the hospital.. they were 2 minutes apart. My mom said hurry to the hospital right now!!

We got there at 8 and they checked us right into our delivery room. My mom showed up shortly after and I was so glad she hadn't gone to Downey!! I was already dilated to a 6 so I asked for an epidural shortly after- I was afraid I would progress too fast and not be able to get one. Eric was super nervous when I was getting my epidural but I felt ok about it this time around. At 9:30 I was dilated to an 8 and fully effaced so the nurse went to call my midwife. A few contractions later I felt like this baby was coming out, I literally was laying there trying to hold him in every contraction. The nurse kept telling me there's an on call doctor right outside if I wanted to deliver the baby all she had to do was call him in, but I wanted Lindsay! She didn't get there till about 10. 3 pushes later and baby Winston was born at 10:26.

He came out screaming and healthy and just like that my heart grew 2 sizes and I couldn't believe how much I loved him already. Eric made a last minute decision to cut the cord and I was so happy he did! Winston weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz and was 20 inches long.

What a whirl wind of a night... I never would have imagined my labor being that quick. I didn't even have a second to sit and think about what was happening. It went so fast and everything went so smooth!

My greatest fear with this pregnancy was how Calvin would handle having a baby brother and not being the center of attention. He came to meet Winston the next morning and was so sweet. He hopped right up on my hospital bed and gave me a big hug "hi mom how you doing" he is just the sweetest little boy. He kept asking where's my baby if he couldn't see Winston. He looked at and held the baby and wanted to shove the baby B into Winston's mouth right away haha. Cal was equally interested in the candy and treats we had in the room and didn't seem jealous at all that Winston was getting lots of attention from our visitors.

We spent 2 nights in the hospital and taking our new baby home felt so good.  Calvin greeted us at home with hugs and kisses, even for his baby brudder. He immediately asked to hold his baby and was so gentle and soft with him. Eric and I feel so lucky to have 2 healthy boys in our lives, we love them both so much! I couldn't have asked for a better pregnancy, delivery and baby. We love you baby Winston and are so glad you joined our family!
