Happy 9 months Calvin!

I can't believe my little Cal boy is 9 months old already. He's been our baby for longer than I was even pregnant with him! My pregnancy went by so fast and looking back it seems like I wasn't ever even pregnant. Cal is still the happiest baby around and makes everyone else happy too. He loves to eat and eats evvvvverything in sight, and eats really well with his 7 teeth. Some of his current favorites are black beans, cuties, string cheese, my phone and lil biscuits. I'm so grateful that he is such a healthy boy, 20lbs (45%) and 30in (98%) sounds like someone I know...

His favorite toy right now is his yellow lego bucket, he loves to empty it on his head and bang it all around. He does really good at the daycare at the gym (yay!!!!) He has officially outgrown being swaddled, and we just lowered the crib because I caught him pulling himself up on the top bar. He blabs a ton and rolls all over the place. If you are lucky he will wave to you and if he likes you he will give you the double wave! He loves to stare at all the Christmas lights, Christmas is going to be so fun with him this year! It has been such a weird December, still no snow, so we have spent a lot of time at the park and outside with Enzo

 

Bahama-mama

Calvin is one well traveled baby, we just got back from our 3rd Bahamas trip with him. He is easy to travel with so we have to take advantage of that while we can! This time we flew down with Jeff and the Lockes, and met Gracee and Lynn on the boat. We spent most of the time at Staniel Cay, the most beautiful place on earth. Each trip with Calvin gets more and more fun because he is able to do more each time. This time he loved jet skiing, looking at the pigs and sharks, eating sand, playing with cousins and floating in the salty water. We love the Bahamas and hope we can make it back soon!

 

 

 

8 months!

My baby bear is 8 months old! He is 20 lbs of pure joy. He has 5 teeth (2 on bottom 3 on top) and wants to eat just about everything in sight. He tries to stuff 4 puffs or cheerios in his mouth at a time- one just isn't enough! He learned how to sip out of a straw a few days ago. He still isn't crawling, he is very content on his tummy and can scoot a little to pick up toys. He giggles and smiles all day long. My favorite part of the day with Calvin is when I go to pick him up after naps and he gives the best hugs ever, wraps both tiny arms around my neck and I love it! Enzo is still his best friend despite the fact that Cal pinches his ears and pokes his eyes. Peek-a-boo is his favorite game and he pretty much do it all by him self from the help of a blanket or beanie. His (favorite) Unlcle Jeff gave him a dirt bike this month, only a couple more years until he can ride it on his own! He is Eric's little twin and seriously couldn't be any cuter!

Calvins 1st Halloween!

We started off Halloween week by taking our little skeleton to a fun dinner at Abby's with soup, caramel apples and pumpkin carving.  On Halloween we went and watched Owen and Coopers parade and Cal loved watching all the kids walk by.  Then we got to go trick or treating at Eric's work, yes we got to GO INTO GOLDMAN SACHS! I've always wondered where Eric spends hours upon hours every day of his life and now I know! Cal was the cutest lil gnome i've ever seen (his costume was so easy to make!!) We ate dinner with the Christensens and then headed home just in time for all the trick-or-treaters. Holidays are so much more fun with a kid around!

7 Months!

How can Calvin be 7 months already? Time is flyin' and it needs it to  s l o w  down.  I just can't get enough Cal snuggles, slobbery kisses, one toothed grins, pinches on my neck and giggles that kill me. He could stay in the bath for hours, he can get drinks out of his sippy cup all on his own, he loves puffs and is getting pretty good at putting them in his mouth (1/2 of them make it into his mouth and the other 1/2 fall on the floor or into right into Enzo's mouth) he's the best little eater and there isn't really anything he won't eat yet. We have been struggling with sleep the past few weeks, partly because he got his second bottom tooth and I wish I knew what else was messing up his sleep. We have tried everything so last weekend we decided to ditch the swaddler, add a noise machine and let him cry it out. After 3 nights he is now sleeping from 9:30-6:30 and I am oh so happy to have my sleep back! He screams really loud whether he is happy or sad, and it is so LOUD! He has mastered sitting up and scoots around on his tummy and back, he knows how to roll over both ways but doesn't do that much. He is still always so happy and makes us the happiest parents around.

I cannot believe Calvin is 6 months old already!  I can't imagine my life without him. I'm a little sad that he's not a newborn anymore but I have loved every stage with him and can't wait to see what comes next.  He loves naps on mom, walks, pulling Enzo's ears, sweet potatoes, sips from moms water bottles, bath time, reading books with Dad, laughing, kids and chewing on everything. He doesn't like the new tooth he's getting, rolling over, naps in his crib, peas and occasionally he cries hard in he car. 
Since I didn't blog about anything except for his birth date I thought it would be fun to put a time line of his first 6 months together...

3.11 Hello world! 6lbs 20.5 inches

3.17 Doc check up 5lbs 11oz

3.19 Newborn pictures 9 days old

4.11 One month old! Loves his binky, sleeping, tummy time 
and being in his car seat. Still in newborn size clothes and diapers

4.18 First trip to Idaho

4.23 First ride in an airplane at 6 weeks, we went to Maui with the Blodgetts. Best baby on the plane and the ocean breeze and waves made for good naps for Cal

 

                   4.28 Calving got a herniated belly button, he's weighing in at 11lbs!

5.8 Finally the 0-3 month clothes are fitting and he's 
moved up to size 1 diapers. Baby's first passport

5.11 Happy 2 months!

5.15 First trip to the Bahamas! He's such a good traveler 

5.28 Moved into his crib and is sleeping a consistent 

7 hours each night, he is one happy boy

5.30 Doc check up today 13.6lbs 24 inches, the shots were so sad

6.1 We blessed Calvin today

6.5 First dip in the pool! Sleeping 10 hours now, and his hernia is all healed up. 

6.11 3 months! He loves sleeping in his crib, walks, looking at books, 

watching Enzo and bath time. Doesn't like wet diapers and tummy time

6.13 First Cowboy Camp

6.21 Fist time boating, we went to buggy Utah Lake 

6.23 First hair cut! His bald spot was creating a 

mullet so Brooke convinced me to buzz the mullet off

6.29 Our little chunk weights 15.5lbs! Brooke came over and took some pictures

7.1 First official giggles started today when he was 

playing with cousins

7.11 4 months! And happy 25th Eric! Cal loves sitting in the bumbo and saucer, loves laughing and he's getting good at putting toys in his mouth

7.28 16.2 lbs (61%) 27.5 in (97%) He's a tall one! 6 month clothes are

8.2 Cal's new thing is sticking his tongue out, its always out!

8.10 Swings are his new favorite thing

 

8.11 5 months! He can push up on his tummy, and sit for a couple seconds 

on his own. He smiles a lot, has the cutest laugh and chubbiest cheeks, 

he's started pinching me and his real hair is growing in

 

8.14 Second trip to Bahamas. Still a good traveler but now 

that he's awake more he cried a few times

 

 

8.24 We have an eater! Cal had sweet potatoes today and loved them

9.1 He has rolled over a few times on his own, and just discovered his toes

 

9.9 Cal's getting his first tooth!
